The U.S. Army will host a community site tour of the Fort Sheridan cleanup
areas to give residents a first-hand view of ongoing environmental cleanup
and restoration work.
Date: Saturday, September 28, 2002
Location: Intersection of Ninth Street & Patten Road (at Fort
Sheridan)
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (with narrated tours every 30 to 40
minutes)
*Refreshments will be served*
An outdoor tent will be set up near Ninth Street and Patton Road, and a van
will leave from this area approximately every 30 to 40 minutes, taking
residents on a narrated driving tour of the cleanup areas. Parking is
available on Ninth Street.
Poster displays will be set up in the tent area, and personnel will be
available to answer questions. Also, an informal meeting of the Fort
Sheridan Restoration Advisory Board is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in the tent
area, and all residents are welcome to attend.
